| Aleutian Islands Sea Duck, Diver & Puddler Hunt |
Adak Island, Alaska
Hunt Dates: December 30 - January 22 |
| |
Alaska Wildfowl Adventures (AWA) first visited Adak Island in 2008 during our first hunt, we have been amazed by the island every day since. We originally developed this location for Pacific Eider, Aleutian Green-wing Teal, and Eurasian Wigeon, but have also had great success on other sea ducks and puddlers.
After our first full season on the island we have learned a lot and had a great season. Alaska’s Aleutian Islands are a chain of over 300 small volcanic islands extending 1200 miles across the Pacific Ocean, providing a secure wintering ground for many species of waterfowl. Over 15 species of ducks can be found on the islands, including standard North American species (such as Pacific Eider), and because of its proximity to Russia, European varieties, such as the Eurasian Wigeon. On occasion, more unique species such as Smew and Pochards find their way onto the islands. |

At our new Aleutian Islands Hunt, we are offering an assortment of exciting hunting opportunities! From comfortable blinds set on the tundra aside small freshwater ponds, to safe excursions onto the open waters of the Bering Sea and North Pacific, you are guaranteed an experience you won’t soon forget! One day we may transport you by ATV’s to true remote locations for exhilarating hunts using zodiacs in small protected bays, and the next we may take you out in one of our 20' duck boats for open water gunning over a full spread of decoys. You definitely can’t call our hunts dull! And, as always, all hunts are executed in true Alaska Wildfowl style, to the highest standards our clients have come to expect from AWA.
Along with the exceptional hunt, you will enjoy comfortable living with all meals included. We serve a full hunter’s breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and potatoes, and for lunch our hogies are legendary with our past clients! On the menu for dinner is caribou, halibut, salmon and prime rib! |
