Do you love duck hunting? How about Duck Hunting AND fishing? Join us on the fabulous Minto Flats State Game Refuge for spectacular wing shooting for ducks and geese. Hunters will enjoy endless flocks of ducks and geese, hunting from blinds placed on the flats where enormous numbers of ducks and geese nest. Shooting limits are liberal and allow you to choose your birds as Mallards, Pintails, widgeon, and teal are plentiful on the flats. As the migration gets in motion, the skies are full of birds heading south and the area is replenished with new birds coming off the immense breeding grounds of the north slope. The shooting is fast and furious or you can be very selective and bag only the best ducks. |

North Country’s guides scout the areas for the best spots to construct blinds and hunters can expect to be placed in a new prime spot each day with a spread of decoys and plenty of birds. Once you have your limit of birds for the day, you may want to enjoy some fishing for Northern Pike, which grow large in this remote wilderness, do some grouse hunting on your own, or just kick back and enjoy the camp. Our large comfortable jet boats leave several times weekly from Nenana, Alaska, and you will be transported to an upscale camp where everything is waiting. You will sleep in wall tents with cots and enjoy first class Alaskan style meals in a dining tent. Campfire stories abound in the evening with the Aurora beaming overhead. It simply doesn't get much better than this for a wingshooter!
If you would like to spend the extra time in the afternoon fishing, try the "Cast and Blast" trip. You get the same guided duck shooting with the addition of fully guided afternoon fishing for big Northern Pike. We regularly catch big fish in the 35-40" class. You get the best of both both worlds of fun during our long sunny September days in the great interior of Alaska! Hunters are welcome to bring
their well behaved retrievers. |
