Our Equipment

The Boats:

Alaska Wildfowl Adventures uses three custom 18’ fiberglass boats for our sea duck hunts. We have stripped and modified these to fit our conditions in Valdez.  We can comfortably gun three hunters on each boat. With a pop-up blind design created by Tim Bouchard, you will be concealed in a large variety of conditions. The majority of our hunting is done from these platforms. 

Shore Blinds:

We spend some time gunning from shore out of portable blinds and Avery Ground Force layout blinds. Being able to move around allows us to change positions when the tide changes.  Using the combination of the boat blinds and shore blinds gives us all the options to have a great hunt.   

The Decoys:

The majority of our decoys used are Greenhead Gear magnum Goldeneye and Bufflehead decoys rigged on long-lines. We are also proud to hunt over hand-carved Harlequin decoys created by Don Mintz. We use single droppers for the Harlequin decoys when we are targeting that special little blue duck.

For our puddler and goose hunts we use all Greenhead Gear decoys.
