About Don Mintz
Don has been producing
wildlife art since the 70’s when he sold his first
painting. During the 1980's he participated in several
National Woodcarvers Association competitions from Oklahoma
to Idaho winning categories ranging from miniatures
with his 2-inch cottontail to his popular hunting scenes.
His passion in the outdoors revolves around waterfowling,
yet his work ranges into fish and animals as well.
Before moving to Idaho,
Don worked as a taxidermist. He uses that experience
to build accuracy into every creation. He has over 150
designs being commercially produced and continues to
design for a variety of companies.
Don creates the amazing
harlequin decoys that we hunt over here in Valdez. We
could not be more pleased with the decoys and the great
craftsmanship Don put into them.
